The Problem...
    I needed to find a
 replacement capstan motor for a TR-70C restoration project here in the shop. Finding a TR-70C or a TR-61 capstan motor is an impossible dream, they are unobtainium, more extinct than dinosaur bones.
     Luckily, I did however have on hand several TCR-100a capstan motors which are electrically the same. The mounting and outside dimensions are somewhat different, so the task at hand was to make an adaptor fitting to mount the TCR-100a capstan motor to the TR-70C transport. Here again is a situation where a part has to be made in order to complete a repair.
